We see life eternal; we acknowledge that we co-exist in a physical body. We believe that we all follow our own pathway
throughout our earthly life. We believe that we have surrendered our earthly body, (at the end of our physical life as we know it) that our Spirit transcends, taking with it the personality developed during this lifetime. We accept that Psychic faculties are a fact of life. We believe that these faculties lie within each and every one of us, that God has given us all 'Gifts'. Some of us have natural gifts, whilst some of us must work at realising the gifts each of us have within. We do this by becoming a part of a development group for fostering and enhancing the gifts within.
There is, unfortunately, a general belief, in and amongst our society that we are in league with dark forces. Nothing could be further from the truth as far as Spiritualism is concerned. The love that is fostered, within all that Spiritualism encompasses, is a great force that works for the highest good of Humanity on many, many levels throughout the world. There is no force in all of creation that is as powerful as love.

Spiritual healing the oldest most ancient form of healing known to humankind, born out of the spirits desire to help a fellow member of creation. This gentle art of love and compassion is a direct link to the Great Creator and all those spirit beings that have devoted their live to returning love to the earth plain. From Spirit Through Spirit To Spirit. Blessed Be.

Medium or Psychic By Shirley-Anne Hunter CSNU

Mediums are people who have a vibration of life-force that allows the spirit world to give messages to them from the afterlife. The objective of a mediums work is to prove survival of the human personality after death and to help the bereaved come to terms with their loss. The vast majority of evidence provided by the Medium should be spirit world orientated and not appertaining to earthly or material consequences’ of the now or future. Sittings with mediums are “not for fortune telling” but are experimental sessions to provide evidence of survival. Any attempt to communicate with Spirit is, by its very nature, experimental and therefore, results can never be guaranteed.

A Spiritualist Medium may be a believer in Spiritualism. Or they may have been born with the gift of realisation. Individuals with ability have been born into this world since the beginning of Humankind and were often referred to as Shaman, healer, or wise ones. Change came in the form of a revelation to a Man Called Andrew Jackson Davis (WHO YOU CAN READ ABOUT) He is the father of Spiritualism and the founder of the Spiritualist Lyceum.

The most recalled revelation is that of the FOX SISTERS in the reference below (WHO YOU CAN READ ABOUT)

Modern Spiritualism became a reality in 1848 when sensational spirit communications in Hydesville led, to rapid developments throughout America, eventually reaching Europe and Britain. Mediums that travelled to demonstrate in Spiritualist Churches were carefully monitored and eventually the Spiritualist National Union Ltd was formed who later became the Spiritualists National Union (SNU) which helps to ensure that their platform mediumship is to a high standard.

Mediumship can be said to take two main forms:

Physical Mediums: A physical phenomenon is of such a nature that it is usually demonstrated only at private séances. Any person sitting with the medium can hear or see what is happening. By means of raps, audible voices or materialised figures the spirit people convey intimate information about themselves, their recollection of their earthly lives and details of their lives in the spirit world. Mental Mediumship: A mental phenomenon is demonstrated through the mind of a medium. Mediums identify three forms of mental mediumship:

NB: Generally mediums work within the three modes below during a service but do not sustain one for the total duration.

CLAIR-VOYANCE (clear-seeing) when mediums see the spirit (in this mode a medium would clearly see outwardly what was to be conveyed.
CLAIR-AUDIENCE (clear-hearing) when mediums hear the spirit (in this mode a medium would hear outwardly clearly sound and words to be conveyed.
CLAIR-SENTIENCE (clear-sensing) the medium senses the presence and the thoughts of the spirit through their own senses.

The vast majority of mediumship is conveyed in this mode as the mediums consciousness shifts to allow the spirit consciousness to be housed during communication (Thought form) the mediums senses act on this therefore the term clairsentient or translated Clair means clear.

Mediums which translates easily into the middle person is mealy a messenger rather like the post man who posts the letter into the letterbox. I.e. Spirit world-medium-recipient it is a very simple process and works within energy vibrations, higher consciousness levels including the nervous system of the medium who normally feels a heightened nervous condition of some kind prior to working. The above are the most common forms of mediumship, however spirit are able to use all of our senses to communicate and convey the information they are trying to reach out to us.

What is a Psychic?

This is a term is used to describe mediums who work on the physical vibration of the individual, such as Aura, objects, emotions and conditions of the physical world. The ability to foresee and tell the future comes from the psychic link. It is a term that has been used for centuries Nostradamus was a famous psychic and the term has crept into Spiritual activities to become common usage, often mediums who work within the Spiritual path are spoken of as both a psychic and a medium. All living life forms have psychic abilities as they engage with the world around them. However television, the media and the public's misunderstanding have hooked onto the word psychic medium and I guess it's here to stay unless we educate through our churches the true meaning of the word Medium (MIDDLE PERSON) In our churches and in the world, we will find many psychics and mediums

Many of our mediums belong to the officially recognised body for Spiritualism in the UK - the Spiritualists' National Union [SNU]. They are certificated mediums with the SNU and teach our fledgling mediums about Demonstrating, Speaking & Healing. Our mediums follow the 7 Principles of National Spiritualism. Mediums do not need to refer to themselves as psychic as it is accepted they have that ability within their Mediumship Church Mediums call themselves Spiritualist Medium as this is the true vocation of the spiritualist path follower.
